TOWN OF GENEVA

PUBLIC BUDGET HEARING

NOVEMBER 28, 2005

Chairman Kopecky called the public budget hearing to order at 6:30 p.m. Roll call was taken. In attendance were Kopecky, Supervisors Van Lue, McLernon, Loomer, and CPA Pat Romenesko. Supervisor Cramer was absent. Clerk/Treasurer Kirch took the minutes of the meeting. One resident was in attendance.

Pat Romenesko presented the 2006 budget. Summary has been published and posted. Levy limits in place this year. Error in the State Levy Limit Worksheet which will affect our budget. Due to annexations by the City of Lake Geneva, our levy limit was reduced by $364. Pat suggested reducing the contingency fund by that amount. Pat reviewed the budget changes from 2005 to 2006. Mill rate change of 1 cent per $1,000 of assessed value.

Motion (Loomer/McLernon) to adjust the budget for the minor changes due to annexations per Pat Romenesko. Approved 4-0. Motion (McLernon/Van Lue) to accept the Town Budget for 2006 as presented and revised. Approved unanimously. Pat will provide Kirch with the revised budget and that will be published and posted.

Motion (Loomer/McLernon) to adjourn the public hearing on the budget. Approved 4-0.
