TOWN OF GENEVA
SPECIAL BOARD MEETING
SEPTEMBER 4, 2009


Chairman Lauderdale called the duly posted and noticed meeting to order at 2:45 p.m. In addition to Lauderdale, in attendance were Supervisors Fahey, Kamps, Millard, and Attorney Harvey. Supervisor Kukla was excused. Clerk/Treasurer Kirch took the minutes of the meeting.

On August 25, 2009 a closed session was held per statute 19.85 to discuss collectively actions by a Town of Geneva employee. Don’t wish to comment further in open session. Would like to hire a special council. Suggest Attorney John Olsen from Lake Geneva at a rate of $150 per hour for administrative level proceedings only. Motion (Kamps/Fahey) to authorize Chairman Lauderdale to sign any contracts needed and to hire the special council. Approved 4-0. Would like to hire an Administrative Investigator, inclusive of interviews of employees, to be fair and impartial. Suggest Hausner & Associates at a rate of $40 per hour. (Battery was changed in recorder.) Should get investigation completed and report done as soon as possible. Motion (Kamps/Millard) to give Chairman Lauderdale the authority to hire Admin¬is¬tra¬tive Investigator Hausner & Associates. Approved 4-0. For the record, did contact an alternative, who was not interested.

Motion (Millard/Kamps) to adjourn. Approved 4-0.
